A message from John and Karen at The Gundog Company:

In 2016 we visited 64 ISA primary schools, up and down the country, and plan to visit even more this year. We demonstrate to the children how we train the gundogs, using whistle and hand commands. The children watch a demonstration, and then take part handling the dogs in their class groups. We are at the school for a whole day, and if one child takes away some knowledge of how to train a dog, then the day has been a success. At the end of the day we pick two or three children to represent their school at the ISA Gundog Challenge. This year we had over 70 children who came, with parents and teachers. The children took home lots of prizes and the winner won £2000 worth of playground equipment for their school. It was a fantastic day. Now we are into 2017, and this year is already turning into a bigger year. Over 100 schools have signed up for visits. The finals of the Gundog Challenge will be held in Oxford this September. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zp0N2pbyZgs&feature=youtu.be&list=PLuEUhat61hhZ4P1rN5GyGWnB8ntlsQVCa We are really grateful to John and Karen for all of the hard work they put into the Gundog Challenge, creating a wonderful opportunity for pupils.
