Amazing A Level results as Abbey Gate College celebrate 100% pass rate

Year 13 at Abbey Gate College in Chester are reaping the rewards today as they’ve achieved a 100% A level pass rate across the entire year group.

Abbey Gate College is a unique, inspiring and nurturing place for pupils aged 4-18 to grow.

Students at the College have excelled, with most heading off to their first choice of university destinations or embarking on apprenticeships. Some of the most popular university courses for the 2023 cohort include computing and business-related studies.

Abbey Gate College is defined by three aspirational aims – self, service, and sustainability – and this sense of purposeful contribution to our wider society is evident throughout the pupils’ chosen pathways for the future.

Most students also challenged themselves by taking up the Extended Project Qualification alongside their other A Levels, and they certainly rose to this with 64% achieving A* or A grades.

Joshua earned the Governors’ award after achieving outstanding A level results of four A*s, setting up him to study Natural Sciences.

Craig Jenkinson, Head of Abbey Gate College, was so delighted to see the ‘personal hard work and determination’ of pupils reflected in exceptional results:

“My colleagues and I are delighted with all that our Year 13 students have achieved. So many of these individual results are well above national predictions, reflective of each student's personal hard work and determination, as well as the support and guidance from our tremendous staff team in the College.

“We are also really pleased that a majority of our students chose to push themselves academically with the Extended Project Qualification, additional to their other A levels, with 64% achieving A* or A.”

The mission of Abbey Gate College is to lead and coach each child during critical, formative years, so that they can realise a clear sense of self as they achieve the best they can academically, all whilst learning how they can make a positive difference to our world in the future.
