Diverse artistic expressions highlighted in ISA National Art Finals
The seven ISA Regional Art Competitions came to an exciting close with the National Art Final on 14-15 November, held alongside our Autumn Study Conference.
This year’s event showcased 266 exceptional artworks from 105 ISA schools, celebrating the amazing talent and creativity within our Members’ schools.
Highlights included innovative textile designs, like a corset made from horsehair and another crafted entirely out of paper. There were also impressive 3D pieces made from recycled materials such as milk bottles, twigs, leaves, and popsicle sticks, bringing natural scenes to life in unique ways.
Our judges were very impressed with the variety of styles. Some drawings captured photographic realism, while photography explored abstract themes, focusing on light and shapes in a truly captivating way.
The scale of the artwork was equally diverse. Large-scale pieces included a detailed army of hand-crafted mushrooms bursting with creativity and a shopping trolley filled with rubbish as a thought-provoking comment on consumerism. Smaller pieces made just as much of an impact, a cleverly designed can of Heinz beans that brought a touch of humour to the exhibition. We hope this competition was a valuable opportunity to share ideas and for schools to feel inspired. Thank you to everyone who took part and, once again, congratulations to the winners.
