President: Lord Lexden
He is the official historian of the Conservative Party and of the Carlton Club. He is also President of the Council for Independent Education (CIFE). From 1997 to 2004 he was General Secretary of the Independent Schools Council (ISC); he is a faithful friend to ISA and a champion of independent education in this country.
Lord Lexden writes, “I am delighted to be part of a successful, expanding organisation working on behalf of over 651 schools where high standards are matched by excellent pastoral care.”
The ISA Lexden Prize is a national award, named for our President and is presented at a ceremony in the House of Lords each year to the sixth former in one of the ISA Members’ schools, judged to be the “most remarkable student”, following nominations received from the Headteachers themselves.
